If this was on an iPhone i would be inserting a cocktail glass and dancing girls emoji.
So for my Friday Favourites..
1. Easter Holiday
As I sit here writing this post i am currently sat on the sofa enjoying the first day of a two week Easter holiday. HOOOORAAAAYY for working in a school! I have been looking forward to this break and I can't wait to just wake up at 1 in the afternoon and not have any reason to get dressed and put my face on. The last few weeks of term have been really dragged on and left me feeling extremely tired so its nice to have a break and recharge, ready for the summer term.
I'm planning on spending most days in my onesie and catching up on TV programs while stuffing my face with Easter eggs. I also have some fun things planned with friends such as trips to London, dinners, bridesmaids duties all the things I never get round to doing during term time.
2. Lunch Box
I recently visted the happy Jackson website and i freaking love it! They have such a fun range of cute bright colourful homeware, stationary and gifts. I went on the website to buy a new lunch box and ended up buying a travel mug and a set of snack boxes. I would have happily bought everything on the website but i don't think my bank account would be happy.
I am hoping that buying a new lunch box will encourage me to make some healthy lunches that i can take to work. I would normally pack a ham sandwich but i've recently become allergic to pork. I know, no more bacon. I have swapped bread for wholemeal pitta bread filled with salad and chicken slices. I've also been taking fruit as a snack instead of crisp. So far i've been more excited about the actual lunch box than i have been about the content inside. Lets see how long this healthy eating will last.
3. Daffodils
With spring in the air I though it would be nice to get some fresh flowers to brighten up my room. I also wanted to use these cider bottles that have been on my window sill for the past few months. Ya know, like they do on pinterest. I though i would get some daffodils because when i look at them i am reminded that winter is coming to an end represents new beginnings and a promise of things to come. Don't get me wrong i love wearing chunky jumpers and woolly hats but i am ready to start wearing fewer layers and spend 90% of my time in summer dresses.
I bought these daffodils from Sainbury's for only a £1 and I got about 20 daffodils in the pack. when i bought them they were only buds and it took about a 4 days for them to fully form into flowers. They are so bright and beautiful. I love them.
4. Orignal Source Shower Gel
I'm not really fusey when it comes to shower gels, I usually check to see if they are any offers on because I'm a cheap skate. So when i saw this for a £1 I didn't hesitate to put it in my basket. I've never used this brand before so I didn't know what to expect. I picked up the vanilla and raspberry bottle and my goodness does it smell incredible I could eat my own arm off (I wont, obvs). Its made up of natural ingredients and it leaves your body nice and moisturised.
I love using this stuff in the evenings when I get in from work followed by French Connection body butter to to leave my body feeling extra soft and relaxed. I actually went back to boots yesterday to get more Original Source shower gels and try out the rest of their range. I'm sure they'll be just as lush.
5. Easter weekend
I've grown up in a religious family and we have celebrate Easter. We go to church on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. My church does a full kids Easter programme, egg hunt, face painting and live zoo. I love taking my little cousins along and seeing their little faces get excited when the see all the animals and the Easter bunny. Obviously, for Christians its more than just the chocolate. Easter Sunday marks the end of lent and the celebrations that Jesus is alive.
My family are big on Easter. As well as having Easter eggs and all the chocolatey goodies we have a big Easter celebrations. Its a bit like christmas but without the presents. Mum makes a lovely spread and we have all the family round. My mouth is watering just thinking about the roast lamb, sweet potatoes, yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. Yum.
